If you’ve followed Farmstead Naturals for a while, you’ll know that every product starts with one simple question:
What would I want to use on my own skin?
After struggling with rosacea myself, I found it surprisingly difficult to find an oil cleanser that was both simple and gentle.
Many contained essential oils, fragrance or long ingredient lists. Others were oil-to-milk cleansers that relied on emulsifiers to create that milky rinse.
I tried creating an oil-to-milk cleanser during development, but it wasn’t what I wanted for Farmstead Naturals. I wanted the oils themselves to be the focus, keeping the formula as simple and gentle as possible.
A Long Time in the Making
Our Calming Oil Cleanser has been developed over a long period, with countless formulations and refinements.
Rather than adding more ingredients, I kept asking myself one question:
Can I achieve everything I want with less?
The final result is a minimalist cleanser made with just four carefully chosen ingredients.
Each ingredient was selected because it has become well known within the sensitive skin and rosacea community for being gentle and well suited to delicate skin.
Why Keep It So Simple?
When your skin barrier is compromised, less is often more.
Instead of filling the formula with unnecessary extras, I wanted to create a cleanser that simply does its job beautifully:
- Removes sunscreen, makeup and daily impurities.
- Leaves skin feeling soft and comfortable.
- Doesn’t leave skin feeling stripped or tight.
- Fragrance free.
- Essential oil free.
- Vegan.
