Why Farmstead Naturals Exists: A Mother’s Journey Into Truly Gentle Skincare

Farmstead Naturals wasn’t created as a business idea — it was born out of necessity, motherhood, and lived experience.

Like many parents, my journey into natural skincare began when my son was a baby and developed eczema. His skin was sore, inflamed, and reactive, and I quickly realised that many of the “gentle” products on the shelves weren’t gentle at all.

They were full of ingredients I couldn’t pronounce, let alone feel comfortable putting on my child’s skin.

When Eczema Changes Everything

Watching your baby suffer with eczema is heartbreaking.
The itching, the redness, the broken skin — and the feeling of helplessness when nothing seems to truly soothe it.

I started researching everything:

  • Ingredients in skincare

  • Household cleaning products

  • Laundry detergents

  • Food and diet

  • Environmental toxins

What I learned changed the way I lived entirely.

Shortly after, I went through three pregnancies close together — and my own skin completely changed.
